Our Story

Built on Passion. Sustained by Trust.

Founded in 2012 by Kate Awtrey-King, Atlanta Convention Photography started with one clear goal: to deliver high-quality, professional event photography with consistency, creativity, and care.

What began as a local business quickly grew into a national brand. Kate’s dedication, eye for detail, and deep understanding of what conference clients need helped her earn the trust of organizations across the U.S. and Canada. Many clients chose her year after year—not just for the beautiful photos, but for her strong work ethic and reliability.

In March 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic brought the events industry to a sudden halt—shutting down our business in just four hours. Like many small businesses, we had to pivot. That’s when we launched Awtrey Media Group, a full-service marketing agency offering photography, video, web design, social media, branding, and strategy.

But even as we shifted focus, one thing never changed: our love for photographing conferences.

Over the last few years, we continued shooting events here and there—but we missed being on the scene full-time. So in 2024, we made it official: Atlanta Convention Photography is back.
